Dr. Petros Vafiadis, MDCM, PhD, FRCPC

Dr Petros Vafiadis has been a General Surgeon since 2007, with an added focus on Bariatric Surgery. He has experience in bariatric, gall bladder, hernia and other digestive system surgeries, as well as colonoscopies. Dr Vafiadis believes in transparent communication with patients and tailoring treatment to each person with the goal of improving quality of life.  He believes in the patient as a partner in health care delivery and that each person merits excellence in quality of care.

Dr Vafiadis completed a PhD with Dean’s Honours and multiple research publications at McGill University after having completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours. He completed his medical school at McGill University, general surgery residency at the University of Montreal and achieved Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada certification in 2007.  He has since been a practicing surgeon and endoscopist in a high-volume regional hospital.
