Dr. Josie Xu, FRCSC

Dr. Josie Xu, MD, FRCSC, is a board-certified Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon with advanced fellowship training in sleep surgery from the University of Southern California.

She currently holds active staff positions at North York General Hospital and Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto. A graduate of Queen’s University School of Medicine and the University of Toronto’s residency program, Dr. Xu specializes in the surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), particularly in patients who are CPAP-intolerant.

Her clinical work is supported by a strong academic background, including multiple peer-reviewed publications and research in areas such as machine learning for sleep endoscopy and depression in OSA patients.

She is a passionate educator and innovator, having developed surgical teaching models and mobile simulation tools, and is a vocal advocate for bringing advanced sleep apnea technologies to Canada.

Dr. Xu also leads a multidisciplinary OSA care initiative, aiming to create integrated treatment pathways for complex sleep patients in the Greater Toronto Area.
