Dr. Jamie Cyriac

Lecturer at the University of Toronto

Dr. Jamie Cyriac is a bariatric surgeon who has been practicing since 2006. He did his undergraduate degree at McMaster University in Biochemistry. He then went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Western Ontario in 2000.

He completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of Toronto in 2005 and then went on to do a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is a staff surgeon at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto. He is the Chief of General Surgery and Head of the Bariatric Surgery program at Michael Garron Hospital. He is also a Lecturer at the University of Toronto.

He is very involved in the training of resident surgeons at the University of Toronto. Dr. Cyriac has extensive experience in bariatric surgery, having done thousands of bariatric cases. He has a passion for the treatment of obesity and obesity related diseases.
