Dr. Gurpeet Johal

Dr. Gurp Johal completed his earned his Bachelor of Science with a major in Biochemistry and completed his medical degree and residency training in General Surgery at the University of British Columbia.

During his residency, he completed several award-winning research projects and received the prestigious Frank B. Thompson Memorial Award. This award recognizes a graduating resident who best exemplified the qualities of an outstanding clinical general surgeon.

Dr. Johal maintains a strong interest in surgical education. He enjoys teaching and working with medical students and residents. At his clinical practice, he cares for patients with a wide range of disorders, including but not limited to abdominal wall hernias, colon cancer, and acute intra-abdominal illnesses.

Outside of work, Dr. Johal enjoys traveling, prepping his cars for track days, home improvement projects, and spending time with his young family.
