Dr. Lee Fruson BHSc, MD, FRCSC
Dr. Lee Fruson is a dual fellowship–trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction, as well as orthopaedic trauma care.
He completed his Medical Degree and Orthopaedic Surgical Residency at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine. He then pursued subspecialty fellowship training in hip and knee joint reconstruction at Rush University in Chicago – one of North America’s leading centres for joint reconstruction – focusing on innovative, technology-enhanced minimally invasive joint replacements and high-volume exposure to complex revision joint reconstructions. He subsequently completed a second surgical fellowship in orthopaedic trauma.
Dr. Fruson practices as a full-time academic orthopaedic surgeon in Calgary, AB. He is a teaching preceptor for both the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and Arthroplasty Fellowship programs at the University of Calgary. He performs hundreds of hip and knee replacements each year with a special interest in partial knee replacements.
