What to Expect with a Brow Lift

Your plastic surgeon will make small incisions within the hairline to re-position the brow, modify underlying muscles, smooth the forehead, raise the upper eyelids, and minimize frown lines. An endoscope, which allows for amazing results without extensive incisions, is often used. This procedure takes two to three hours under general anesthesia allowing you to return home the same day.

Recovery After a Brow Lift

Bruising and swelling around the eyes may be experienced for several days, but is easily controlled with medication. Sutures or staples will be removed about a week after surgery and any swelling will diminish within one to three weeks.

Patients are able to resume normal activities within seven to ten days. However, any exercise, lifting, bending over or straining should be avoided for at least two weeks. Patients may also experience some limited scalp numbness, but normal sensation should recover after a period of a few weeks. All scalp incisions will be small and largely unnoticeable.
