Dr. Zarrabian is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Orthopedic Surgery at McMaster University where he trains the next generation of Canadian and international surgeons. He also serves as an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon at Hamilton General Hospital where he treats a wide range of spine problems: complex polytraumas, oncology, deformities, and degenerative conditions. Before this, he worked at Health Sciences Centre and Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he was director of the University of Manitoba’s spine surgery fellowship and established Manitoba’s first outpatient spine surgery program, emphasizing minimally invasive techniques. With fluency in English, French, and Persian, Dr. Zarrabian is well-equipped to communicate with a diverse patient base.

Education and Training:

Dr. Mohammad Zarrabian holds a rich educational background, including a Clinical Spine Surgery Fellowship from the University of Toronto and the prestigious Mayo Clinic, an Orthopedic Surgery Residency from the University of Manitoba, and a Medical Doctorate from Queen’s University. His academic experience also includes a Doctorate in Chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences, Illinois, where he graduated summa cum laude, and a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto.

As an academic spine surgeon Dr. Zarrabian’s research has been presented at national and international conferences leading to publications in several peer reviewed journals. He has been a guest speaker and a member of expert panels at meetings and continuing medical education events in Canada and internationally.
