Dr. Elzinga

Dr. Elzinga completed medical school at the University of Calgary, a plastic surgery residency at the University of Alberta, a hand and wrist fellowship at the University of Michigan, and a microsurgery fellowship at the University of Manitoba.
She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary. She has been an attending plastic surgeon in Calgary since 2018, performing both reconstructive and cosmetic procedures.
She is active in teaching, administration, and research. She previously served as the Head of Surgical Quality for the Department of Surgery in Calgary. Her research interests include peripheral nerve surgery, hand and wrist surgery, and microsurgery.

Dr. Elzinga is an active member in many provincial, national, and international surgical societies. She attends multiple conferences annually both to present her work and to determine if there are new surgical procedures that can be offered to her patients.
Dr. Elzinga is an experienced peripheral nerve surgeon, treating peripheral nerve conditions throughout the body, including carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, meralgia paresthetica, tarsal tunnel syndrome, Morton’s neuroma, Schwannomas, etc.
She performs all hand and wrist procedures including surgery for trigger finger, Dupuytren’s disease, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, arthritis (including joint fusions and joint replacements), tendon and ligament disorders, bone disorders, and masses. She uses arthroscopic and open techniques.
She also performs breast and body cosmetic procedures including breast reduction, breast augmentation, breast lifts, top surgery, abdominoplasty, and labiaplasty.
